General/Distribution: A genus with approximately a dozen species scattered in tropical and temperate regions of the world. 1 species in Pakistan.

Saprophytic yellowish plants with coral-like rhizome, without pseudobulbs and leaves. Scape with brown sheaths and terminal, rather lax, few to many-flow¬ered raceme. Flowers first erect-spreading, nodding after anthesis. Sepals and petals subequal in length. Labellum shorter than sepals, curving downwards, entire or 3-lobed, spurless. Column slender, erect, without foot; anther terminal, incumbent; pollinia 4, waxy, cohering by viscid material, without caudicles; viscid gland and rostellum inconspicuous; stigma entire. Ovary with short twisted pedicel; seed-capsules pendent.
