This name was published for, apparently, the same species separately by Kunth and by Roemer & Schultes. Kunth's name has long been cited by later authors, but Roemer & Schultes's name was published first and has priority. These names are currently nomenclaturally distinct although they probably share isotypes. Kunth's type specimen at P has been annotated by Delprete as the lectotype of Roemer & Schultes's name, which would make these names nomenclaturally equivalent, but this lectotypification does not yet appear to be validly published.
