Shrub. Leaves 7-15 x 5-8 cm, elliptic or elliptic lanceolate, acuminate or caudate, puberulous to tomentose above, densely softly tomentose beneath specialy when young; bacterial nodules space, ± rounded, brownish dots; petiole 2-3.5 cm long. Stipules ovate, cuspidate. Inflorescence, 5-7.5 cm in diameter. Bracts sheathing, broad membranous, c. 5 mm long. Flowers white, pedicel 4-8 mm long. Calyx-tube c. 2 mm long, teeth minute, tomentose. Corolla tube c. 7 mm long; lobes 5 x 2.5 mm, elliptic-oblong, acute; throat pilose. Style twice as long as corolla, stigma fusiform. Fruit globose, 4-5 mm across, 2-seeded (not seen).
