Type: Type: Kashmir, Srinagar, Takht-i-Sulaiman, 5000-8000 ft., 7. V. 1892, Duthie 10816 (K).
Distribution: Distribution: Pakistan and Kashmir.
Comment/Acknowledgements: The Swat plant, cited above, has leaves up to 2.5 cm long, fruits 10 mm long, c. 5 mm broad (almost mature). The measurements given in brackets are those which exceed the ones given by Ahrendt (l.c.).

This species is still imperfectly known, and the flower is still not described. It differs from the previous species by its narrow fruits, somewhat smaller leaves, inflorescence and pedicels.

R. R. Stewart (l.c. 279) has cited in error the type of this species under Berberis kashmirana also.
