An erect, perennial herb, 15-25 cm tall, glabrous, sub-glaucous, simple; rootstock thickened, long, branched with branches twisted together. Racemes terminal, not exceeding the leaves. Leaves very similar to the previous species but ultimate segments very narrow, linear, acute, 1-1.5 mm broad. Bracts similar to leaves but much smaller, 10-25 mm long, 2-3-pinnatisect with segments many, linear. Flowers yellow, 12-18 (-20) mm long, including spur half or slightly exceeding than half of the flower. Sepals c. 1.5 mm in diameter, denticulate. Upper petal slightly winged at the back; spur narrow, straight or slightly downcurved. Capsules c. 13 mm long, 3 mm broad, on equally long, deflexed pedicels; style 2-3 mm long, curved at the apex with dilated stigma; seeds biseriate, shining black.
