Distribution: Endemic to North Western Himalayan ranges of Pakistan and Kashmir (Fig. 5.14).
Comment/Acknowledgements: Grows in moist grassy places along streams between 1700-3000 m.

Erect, annual herb, 8-28 cm tall. Cauline leaves 3.5-12 x 2-8 mm, elliptic-ovate, 3-5 lobed, with truncate base; lobes acute-acuminate, as long as broad, upper antrorse, lower patent, (3.5-6 x 2-4 mm, elliptic, 3-lobed, lobes acute in aestival and 6.5-12 x 4.5-8 mm, ovate, 4-5 lobed, lobes acuminate in autumnal form). Racemes lax. Floral leaves 4-8.5 x 3-7 mm, ovate-broadly ovate, 4-6 lobed, with truncate base; terminal lobe acute-acuminate, lateral lobes acuminate-aristulate, as long as broad and longer than broad, upper antrorse, lower patent (4-5 x 3-4 mm, ovate, 4-lobed, lobes acute in aestival, 5-8.5 x 4.5-7 mm, broadly ovate, 5-6 lobed, lobes acuminate in autumnal form). Flowers 5.5-10 mm long; pedicellate-sessile. Calyx 3-6 mm long; lobes 1.5-3 x 0.5-1 mm; glandular hairs restricted to the upper parts of the lobes; tube unequal or lobe 2.5-3.5 mm long. Corolla pink - dark lavender, throat yellow, dorsally 5-10 mm long; tube 3-6 mm long, externally pubescent especially on the upper lip. Upper lip 2.5-5 mm long. Lower lip 3-5.5 mm long; lobes oblong-obovate, emarginate, slightly erose-deeply notched, middle lobe largest 2-3.5 x 1-3 mm, left and right lobes equal or unequal, left lobe 1.5-3 x 1-3 mm, right lobe 1.5-3 x 1-3 mm. Two anthers with equal and two with unequal awns, densely hairy; hairs long twice as long as the longer awn. Capsule 4-7 x 1.5-2.5 mm, (4-5 x 1.5 mm in aestival and 5.5-7 x 2-2.5 mm in autumnal form), oblong, retuse-emarginate, shorter than the calyx, ciliate at the upper part; cilia soft. Seeds 6-11 per capsule (6-7 in aestival and 8-11 in autumnal form), oblong, obtuse.
