Erect, annual herb, 4-7 cm tall. Cauline leaves 3-5 x 1.5-2.5 mm, ovate, 3-lobed, with truncate base, lobes acuminate, as long as broad, all antrorse. Racemes dense. Floral leaves similar to cauline leaves but 4-lobed and broader, 4-7.5 x 3-7 mm. Flowers 6-8.5 mm long; pedicels c. 0.5 mm long. Calyx 4-6 mm long; lobes 1.5-2.5 x 0.5-1 mm, equal; tube 2-4 mm long. Corolla purple-white, with yellow spots on the lip, dorsally 5-8 mm long; tube 2-3 mm long. Upper lip 2-4 mm long, slightly pubescent to glabrous externally, lower lip 3-5 mm long; lobes oblong, obcordate, erose-deeply notched, middle lobe largest 2-3 x 1.5-2 mm, left and right lobes usually unequal, left lobe 1.5-3 x 1-1.5 mm, right lobe 1.5-3 x 1-1.5 mm. Two anthers with equal and two with unequal awns; hairs few and short equalling the shorter awns. Capsule 3-6 x 2-3 mm, obovate-oblong retuse, shorter than the calyces, ciliate at the upper part; cilia soft. Seeds 6 per capsule, oblong, acute.
