Comment/Acknowledgements: I have not seen any authentic specimen of this species, but from description it appears to be closely related to Matthiola flavida Boiss. or an eglandular form of Matthiola chenopodiifolia Fisch. & Mey., both also recorded from that area.

Annual, 10-15 cm tall, simple or branched from the base, clothed with minute, branched, white hairs, leafy below only. Basal leaves rosulate, ovate, cuneate below, 1-2 cm long, 7-17 mm broad, petiolate, sparsely crenate-dentate to sinuate-dentate, rarely subentire; upper leaves lanceolate, dentate to subentire. Racemes lax, up to 10 cm long in fruit. Flowers c. 1 cm across, yellowish; pedicels c. 3 mm long in fruit, spreading, slightly or hardly thickened in fruit. Sepals c. 6 mm long, pubescent outside. Petals 2-3 times as long as the sepals, c. 1 mm broad, oblong, yellowish. Siliquae 3.5-6 cm long, 1.5 mm broad, compressed, slightly torulose. ± outcurved near the apex, sparsely pubescent; stigma elongated, clavate, 1-2 mm long; seeds many, c. 2 mm long, hardly 0.5 mm broad, oblong, brown.
