Notes: This species has glabrescent stems and leaves, well developed obovate to elliptic leaf blades, umbelliform inflorescences borne with and below the leaves, short green to white corollas, and subglobose fruits. The peduncules are usually well developed. The fruits are described on some labels as blue to purple, which is an unusual color in Hoffmannia. Hoffmannia boliviana is similar to Hoffmannia obovata, which has the flowers usually in an cymose arrangement and longer red to yellow corollas.
Distribution: At 200-1800 m, central Peru to central Bolivia.
