Notes:

This species is characterized by its rounded stipules and branched inflorescences with the flower groups enclosed by rather well developed bracts. It was misidentified in the Ducke Reserve handbook as Psychotria pacimonica; these are similar. Carapicea araguariensis is also similar to Carapichea necopinata. A description was presented by Lachenaud & Delprete (2022: 282-283), who noted it may be expected also in French Guiana.

Distribution: Wet forest vegetation at 50-125 m in northern Brazil, generally on terra firme.
