Notes:
This distinctive species can be recognized by its narrow bullate leaves that are clustered at the ends of the stems, its stipules with two aristate lobes, and its pendulous infructescences. Most plants have a few rounded to lobed bacterial nodules in one or more of the leaves, but Bremekamp did not include this species in his group of Psychotria with bacterial nodules and apparently overlooked them in Psychotria armandii (a few nodules are visible in the on-line image of the holotype of this species).
