Description: Plantssmallto medium-sized. Stem unbranched. Corm tunics leathery to fibrous. Leaves several, either mostly basal in a fan or all cauline, sometimes much reduced on flowering stem, narrowly lanceolate to lanceolate, firm-textured, plane with thickened midrib and margins, usually at least 4 mm wide, usually villous or puberulous. Spike mostly few-flowered; bracts smooth, margins of inner bracts free. Flowers small to medium, weakly or more strongly bilabiate, nectar guides usually of streaks or spots, sometimes scented; perianth tube usually obliquely funnel-shaped, shorter or longer than dorsal tepal; lower tepals narrower but usually ± as long as upper.
