Notes: This species is characterized by its medium-sized leavs with pit domatia, tubular bright pink corollas, and short chartaceous capsules. It is generally similar to Cinchona calisaya; Maldonado separated these in the protologue by the leaf blades shiny adaxially and the capsules basipetally dehiscent in Cinchona anderssonii vs. matte and acropetally in Cinchona calisaya. Cinchona anderssonii is also similar to Cinchona hirsuta, which differs in its woody capsules and sparsely developed domatia.
Distribution: Wet forest at 2250-2600 m in the Yungas vegetation on the eastern slopes of the Andes in northern through central Bolivia.
