The habit of this taxon is similar to E. foliosa Pennell in having spreading branches (bushy habit) which are densely foliose, glandular and eglandular hairy – nearaly glabrous hairs short, stalks of the glandular hairs less than 5 x as long as the heads, but differs in having the emarginate capsule which is shorter than the calyces and bract lobes being mednialy incurved. In E. foliosa Pennell, the capsule is almost equal to the calyces, retuse, the bract lobes are expanded and not incurved.

This taxon seems to be confined to the higher altitude of Sindh valley. More material is needed to ascertain its exact taxonomic status.

Erect, annual herb, 7-15 cm tall. Cauline leaves 4.5-11 x 2-6 cm, elliptic-ovate, 3-4 lobed, with truncate base; terminal lobe acute-obtuse, lateral lobes acuminate, medinialy incurved, as long as broad, all antrorse. Flowering begins at node 3. Racemes lax. Floral leaves 6-11 x 5-10 mm broadly ovate, 3-5 lobed, with truncate base; terminal lobe acuminate, lateral lobes acuminate – slightly aristulate, medinialy incurved, longer than broad, all antrorse. Flowers 6-8 mm long; pedicels c. 0.5 mm long. Calyx 4-5 mm long hairy, hairs of the same type as on leaves; lobes 2-3 x 0.5-1 mm, equal; tube 2-3 mm long. Corolla white with yellow throat, dorsally 5.5-7.5 mm long; tube 3-4 mm long, externally pubescent especially on the upper lip and the tube. Upper lip 3-4 mm long, lower lip 3-5 mm long; lobes oblong, emarginate, erose-slightly notched, middle lobe largest 3-4 x 1.5-2 mm, left and right lobes unequal, left lobe 1.5-2 x 1-2 mm, right lobe 2-2.5 x 1.5-2 mm. Two anthers with unequal and two with subequal arms, sparsely hairy; hairs long, twice as long as the longer awn. Capsule c. 5 x 2.5 mm, oblong, emarginate, shorter than the calyces, ciliate at the upper part; cilia stiff. Seeds 7-14 per capsule, oblong, obtuse.
