Erect, annual herb, c. 20 cm tall. Cauline leaves c. 5 x 3 mm, ovate, 3-4 lobed, with truncate base; lobes obtuse, as long as broad, upper antrorse, lower patent. Flowering begins at node 4-5. Racemes dense. Floral leaves similar to cauline leaves but 5-lobed and terminal lobe acute, c. 6 x 4.5 mm. Flowers c. 5.5 mm long, sessile. Calyx c. 3 mm long hairy, hairs of the same type as on leaves; lobes c. 1.5 x 0.5 mm, lobes equal; tube c. 1.5 mm long. Corolla white with yellow throat, dorsally c. 5 mm long; tube 2 mm long, externally pubescent especially on the uppr lip. Upper lip c. 3 mm long. Lower lip c. 3 mm long; lobes oblong-obovate, obcordate, erose-slightly notched, middle lobe largest c. 2.5 x 1.75 mm, left and right lobes equal, c. 1.5 x 1 mm. Two anthers with unequal and two with subequal awns, sparsely hairy equalling the shorter awn. Capsule c. 4.5 x 2 mm, oblong, retuse, ciliate all over; cilia soft. Seeds 7 per capsule, oblong, obtuse.
