Annotation: Michelangeli et al. (2018): Although the epithet 'japuraensis' differs by one letter from 'japurensis', we consider these names too similar and very likely to be confused, especially since they refer to the same locality. See article 53.2 of the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants (Turland et al., 2018). Thus, we choose to make the new combination based on the available heterotypic synonym. I.e. Clidemia heteroclita and not C. japurensis
