Seems to be restricted in Baluchistan, grows near moist places between 1700-2000 m.

Perennial, tuberous, tomentose herbs, upto 15 cm long. Tubers elongated, c. 10 x 1.5 cm, covered with scales. Root collar scaly. Stem unbranched, reduced. Leaves linear, 8 – 12 x 0.1 – 0.2  cm, entire, acute, recurved. Peduncles upto 15 cm long, usually smaller than leaves. Capitula 35 – 40 x 10 – 15  mm in fruiting form. Involucre farinose, 2 – 2.2 cm long, basally rotundate. Phyllaries biseriate, basally broad,  margins thin, hyaline, membranous; apex acute or obtuse; outer ones lanceolate, 5 – 10 x 3 – 6  mm obtuse; inner ones ovate or oblong, (19-)30 – 35 x 6 – 10  mm, acute or obtuse. Florets yellow. Cypselas 14 – 16  mm long,  glabrous, ribbed, muricate, tapering towards the both ends, brown. Pappus uniseriate, bristles 15 – 20  mm long, equal to the involucres, 35-38 in number, plumose below, scabrous above, golden-brown.
