Comment/Acknowledgements:
Has a superficial resemblance with
Elaeagnus umbellata
Thunb., but differs in the nature of the endocarp and the glabrous style.

Differs from the type var. angustifolia in having dull green leaves, usually of a larger size, with stellate hairs on the upper surface and the subglobose fruit.
