Comment/Acknowledgements: Found in the outer Himalayan ranges from 762-1981 m. Brandis (1874, p. 120) remarks that the acidic pulp of the fruit is medicinal and is also eaten in Nepal and Sikkim.

A tree up to 12 m tall. Young shoots rusty tomentose. Leaves imparipinnate, up to 50 cm or more long, rachis winged. Leaflets 9-13(-15) in number, opposite, sessile, 50-110 x 25-50 mm, elliptic to elliptic-oblong, serrate, rusty pubescent on the midrib and nerves (especially on the under surface), nerves raised on the undersurface. Flowers in terminal panicles, ± size of the leaves. Bracts less than 1 mm long, ovate-lanceolate, pubescent. Calyx shallow cupular, pubescent, persistent, lobes 5, 1 mm long, obtuse. Petals 2 mm long, oblong, exceeding the calyx lobes, pubescent on the inner surface (i.e. on the midrib, towards the base) and with a few short hairs at the apex. Disk 10-lobed. Stamens ± equalling petals; filaments 1.8-2 mm long, glabrous, base dilated, anthers oblong, pubescent. Ovary ovoid, c. 1 mm long; styles 3, erect; stigma capitate. Drupe ± 4.5 mm broad, subglobose, pubescent. Endocarp (stone) laterally compressed, 4 mm broad, suborbicular, smooth.
