A glabrous bush or a small tree, branchlets flexuous, grey to purplish black. Stipules not spinescent, prickles infra-stipular, paired, recurved, c. 2.5-7 mm long. Leaves fasciculate, petiole usually glandular. Pinnae 2-3 rarely 4 pairs, leaflets 1-2 rarely 3 pairs. Spike c. 1.2-3.8 cm long. Flowers creamy white, scented. Pod ensiform, glabrous, 2.5-8 cm long, 1.5-2.8 cm broad. (Brenan, l.c. 1959).
