Distribution: Distribution: Pakistan (Baluchistan); Russia (Aralo-Caspia, Balkash, Kyzyl Kum, Kara Kum,Syr Darya foothills, Pamir Alai); Persia (Kerman).
Map Location: Reported from Baluchistan by Bunge (Astrag. 2:46.1969), Boissier (l.c.) and Parsa (Fl.Iran vol.2.1948), though I have not seen any specimen from there. Bunge (l.c.) quotes ‘Stocks 939, ex p., Boissier (l.c.) also refers to Stock’s specimens. I have seen 5 sheets bearing the label ‘Stocks 939’ in the Kew Herbarium, but none of these belong to Astragalus flexus Fisch.

Perennial herb, stem reduced. Leaf imparipinnately compound, c. 8-37 cm long, petiole c. 3-9 cm long, glabrous or pubescent; leaflets 15-25, c. 6-20 mm long, orbicular-ovate or orbicular-obovate, subobtuse, glabrous above, glabrous or pubescent below; stipules c. 8-13 mm long, glabrous or pubescent. Inflorescence an axillary, pedunculate raceme, peduncle c. 5-12 cm long. Bracts c. 5-9 mm long. Pedicel 2-3 mm long, glabrous. Calyx c. 14-17 mm long, pubescent to subpubescent, teeth c. 2-3 mm long. Corolla yellow. Vexillum c. 32-38 mm long, glabrous. Wing c. 20-26 mm long. Keel c. 24-29 mm long. Fruit c. 16-24 mm long, pubes-cent, hairs spreading, bilocular to semibilocular, stipitate.
