Erect shrub, 1.2-3.0 m tall, young branches pubescent. Leaf 1-foliolate, petiole c. 6-25 mm long; leaflets 8.5-13.5 cm long, 4-5 cm broad, ovate-oblong, acute, glabrous to subglabrous above, silky pubescent below, gland-dotted, stipels 0, stipules 6-9 mm long, caducous. Inflorescence axillary and terminal, simple raceme or panicle, 7.5-15.0 cm long. Bracts large, membranous, 1.2-2.5 cm long, usually broader than long, cordate at the base; each bract folded and enclosing 2 or more small flowers. Calyx 6-6.5 mm long, pubescent, teeth longer than the tube. Corolla white. Vexillum 9-10 mm long, auricled. Fruit 9-10 mm long, 4.5-5.0 mm broad, oblong, densely pubescent, 2-seeded, completely concealed by bracts.
