A deciduous tree, 6-8 m tall; twigs and leaves persistently softly hairy. Stipules 1.5-2.5 cm long, leafy, kidney shaped. Leaf c. 21.5-38.5 cm long, leaflets 10-21 pairs, oblong-elliptic, c. 3.5-7 cm long, c. 1-2.5 cm broad. Inflorescence solitary or paired lateral racemes. Pedicel 3-5 cm long. Sepals ovate, 4-5 mm long. Petals 1.5-3.5 cm long, hairy outside, pink. Stamens 10, 3 large, having filaments swollen in the middle, 4 medium sized and 3 quite small. Pod 20-60 cm long, 2.5 cm broad.
