Locality: Near the base of alpine slopes on the Snowy Range, colorado

Collector and Number: Parry 304 (broad-leaved form); Hall & Harbour 470 (partly a narrow-leaved form); Parry s.n.

Note: MO specimen labelled Parry 304 annotated as "Lectotype" but without reference, and no publication of this designation has been located (VIII 2023). The specimen MO-2647703 was drawn for the protologue illustration of Gentiana parryi; it lacks a collection number, but was annotated by Engelmann as "original specimen"; however, it has a collection year of 1864, and the collection numbered Parry 304 has a label that corresponds to the protologue and a collection year of 1861
