Distribution: Pakistan, India, Tibet, China and Nepal.

Comment/Acknowledgements: A uniregional element, which belongs to Irano-Turanian region and extends into Sino-Japanese region. In Pakistan, it was collected only once.

Annual-biennial, up to 30 cm high, glabrous herb. Stem branched from base or above. Basal leaves falling off at time of flowering 0.75-1.5 x 0.3-0.8 cm, ovate-obovate or spathulate, obtuse-acute or mucronate, entire, subsessile-petiolate, cauline leaves 1.0-3.0 x 0.3-1.0 cm, obovate-spathulate, sessile, obtuse, entire. Inflorescence solitary terminal. Flowers tetramerous, pedicellate 1.5-2.5 cm long, campanulate. Calyx 1.25-2.0 cm long, tube 1.0-1.6 cm long, distichously unequal, 4-lobed, 2-smaller lobes 0.3-0.65 x 0.15-0.25 cm, broadly lanceolate, acuminate, entire, bigger lobes 0.75-0.9 x 0.2-0.35 cm, lanceolate, acuminate, entire. Corolla 15-2.5 cm long, tube 12-1.8 cm long, lobes 0.7-1.2 x 0.2-0.4 cm, ovate-obovate, obtuse, entire, streaked, sinuses between lobes obtuse. Stamens 4, versatile, filaments long filiform, inserted at the base of corolla throat, anthers 2-lobed, dorsifixed, slightly sagittate. One nectary each at base of corolla throat and opposing the corolla lobes. Ovary 0.8-1.35 x 0.175-0.3 cm, lanceolate, gynophore present, stigma papillose and prominent, style present. Capsule subexserted-exserted with numerous small, dark brown coloured papillose seeds.
