The variety resembles Geranium rubifolium from which it differs in the slender habit, appressed pubescent pedicels and peduncle (rarely glandular), the more or less membranous leaves with a deeper and irregularly divided segments. The sepal awn is shorter (2-3) mm. Stipules rarely 2-fid.
