Shrub up to 1-1.5 m. Leaves narrow linear up to 40 x 2-3 mm, entire, somewhat revolute, whitish, with a dense indumentum of very small lepidote-stellate hairs on both surfaces, sessile, usually with dusters of younger leaves in axils. Spike 2-3.5 cm, condensed or lowermost verticillasters distant. Bracts rhombic-obovate acuminate, shorter than calyces. Calyx cylindrical, c. 5 mm, 13-ribbed; teeth subequal, the adaxial with an apical obcordate appendage. Corolla purple 10-12 mm.
