Stems moderately
to densely pubescent with relatively short (mostly 0.5–1.0 mm), upward-curved
hairs, sometimes also dotted with sessile glands. Leaf blades with sparse,
nonglandular hairs. May–July.
Scattered in the
Ozark and Ozark Border Divisions (eastern U.S. west to Kansas and Texas). Mesic
to dry upland forests, ledges of bluffs, and banks of streams, rivers, and
spring branches.
