Description
|
Trees, to 13 m, the stems ? glabrous. Leaves elliptic to weakly obovate, acu- minate, obtuse basally, to 15 cm long and 6 cm wide, glabrous on both sur- faces, or pubescent along the midrib beneath, membranaceous; petioles 3-5 mm long, weakly perfoliate and sparsely glandular in the axils. Inflorescences race- mose, bostrychoid, terminal to subterminal, few-flowered, the peduncle short, less than 5 mm long. Flowers with the pedicels 3-5 mm long; bracteole 1, minute, scari- ous; calyx-lobes unequal, oblong, ca. 6-20 mm long and 2-4 mm wide, glabrous; corolla subinfundibuliform, yellow, the tube proper 20-22 mm long, the throat narrowly conic, ca. 12-15 mm long, the lobes obliquely obovate, ca. 15-20 mm long; stamens attached at the top of the corolla tube, the anthers ca. 4 mm long. Follicles unknown.

The paucity of good flowering material and the maltreated type collection have precluded a description of the ovary and surrounding structures.
