Bulbs globose, 3-6 cm broad; coats dark coloured, papery. Leaves 4-6, linear to broadly linear, up to 5 cm broad, surface especially below in the lower part, pilose, margin smooth. Scape c. 1 m tall, glabrous. Pedicels c. 3 cm long. Flowers star-shaped. Tepals magenta-purple. Filaments as long as the tepals, entire, connate at the base, inner broader. Ovary subglobose, verrucose, short stipitate.
