Distribution: Afghanistan, Pakistan (Chitral, N. Baluchistan) and Tajikistan.
Comment/Acknowledgements: It is used as a vegetable in Baluchistan.

Leaves puberulous and glabrous. Scape at least towards the base puberulous. Bracts rarely sparingly ciliate. In other characters it is like subsp. stenophyllus.
