Description
|
Delicate annual; culms very slender, 8-35 cm. long, freely branching, erect to decumbent-spreading, more or less strigose below the nodes; sheaths shorter than the internodes, glabrous; ligule hyaline, about 1 mm. long; blades 1.5-3.5 cm. long, about 0.5 mm. wide, minutely puberulent on the upper surface, with firm white margins; panicles diffuse, 2-8 cm. long, the branches mostly solitary, fili- form, ascending or spreading; pedicels capillary, 3-5 mm. long, spreading, straight or flexuous; glumes acute or subobtuse, the first 0.4 mm. long, the second a little longer; lemma 1.5 mm. long, sparsely pilose, the slender awn 5 mm. long.
