Mesosetum angustifolium (Swallen) Swallen, Peniculus angustifolius Swallen.

Perennes densamente cespitosas. Tallos 40-65 cm; nudos pilosos. Hojas en su mayoría basales, glabras; pelos auriculares presentes; lígula c. 0.5 mm; láminas hasta 35 cm x 1 mm, cilíndricas. Inflorescencia 2-8 cm x 5 mm; raquis 0.2-0.4 mm de ancho, triquetro. Espiguillas 4-5 mm; callo piloso; glumas libres; gluma inferior 3-3.8 mm, angostamente triangular, acuminada, longiciliada; gluma superior 4-5 mm, ciliada en el 1/2-4/5 superior, esparcidamente pilosa en el dorso, 3-nervia; lema inferior 3.6-4.7 mm, 3-nervia, ciliada en el 1/3 superior; pálea inferior ausente; lema superior 3.5-4.2 mm; anteras 2.2-2.5 mm.
