Mesosetum tabascoense Beetle.

Perennes cespitosas o estoloníferas. Tallos 50-87 cm; nudos pilosos. Hojas en su mayoría basales, más o menos papiloso-hirsutas; lígula c. 0.5 mm; láminas 8-32 cm x 2-8 mm, generalmente aplanadas, a veces enrolladas. Inflorescencia 5-8 cm x 3-5 mm; raquis 0.4-0.5 mm de ancho, triquetro. Espiguillas 4.4-5.2 mm; callo piloso; glumas libres; gluma inferior 3.5-4.8 mm, triangular, apiculada hasta 0.2 mm, en el 1/2 inferior longiciliada; gluma superior 4.4-5.2 mm, ciliada en los 2/3 superiores, 3-nervia; lema inferior 4-4.5 mm, 3-nervia, ciliada en el 1/3 medio; palea inferior ausente o hasta c. 2.5 mm; lema superior 4-4.5 mm; anteras 1.9-2.1 mm.
