1. Aciachne acicularis Laegaard, Nord. J. Bot. 7: 669 (1987). Isotipo: Bolivia, Renvoize y Cope 4164 (MO!).

Tallos 1-3 cm, muy ramificados. Vainas 3-5-nervias; lígula c. 0.7 mm; láminas 4-10 x 0.3-0.4 mm, numerosas, 3-nervias, glabras en el envés, con tricomas cortos estipitiformes en el haz. Glumas 1.8-2.2 mm, anchamente ovadas; flósculo (incluyendo la punta) (3.8-)4-4.6 mm. 2n=22. Páramos. CR (Kuhbier 393, ISC). 3500-3800 m. (Costa Rica, Los Andes de Colombia, Venezuela, Perú, Bolivia y Argentina.)

En Mesoamérica solamente es conocida del páramo del Cerro Chirripó, el pico más alto de Costa Rica.
