Annotation: Although Pursh cited "Poa amabilis Walter" as a synonym, Walter's description was a misapplication of Poa amabilis L., and not intended as a new taxon name, and is thus invalid. Pursh, unlike Muhlenberg (Sep 1813), provided a diagnosis, and is thus Poa spectabilis Pursh is a legitimate name in its own right, that only needed typification different from that of Muhlenberg's Poa refracta, to fix its application.
