Eriochloa stevensii Davidse, Novon 2: 325. 1992; E. multiflora Renvoize.

Anuales cespitosas; tallos 50–100 cm de largo y 3–6 mm de ancho, erectos; entrenudos y nudos velutinos. Hojas densamente velutinas; lígula 0.6–1.2 mm de largo, una membrana ciliada; láminas 10–19 cm de largo y 4–10 mm de ancho. Panícula 17–21 cm de largo, pedúnculo densamente velutino, racimos 16–21, 1–3.5 cm de largo, simples, ascendentes, densamente velutinos, las espiguillas generalmente pareadas, pedicelos 0.3–0.8 mm de largo; espiguillas 3.7–5.2 mm de largo, acuminadas, adpreso pilosas; callo 0.2–0.3 mm de largo; gluma superior 3.5–4.9 mm de largo, 3-nervia, acuminada o aristada hasta 1 mm de largo; flósculo inferior estéril; lema inferior 2.8–4.6 mm de largo, 3-nervia; pálea inferior ausente; flósculo superior 1.9–2.3 mm de largo; lema superior elíptica, pajiza, la arista 0.1–0.2 mm de largo; anteras 1.1–1.3 mm de largo, amarillas.

Rara, en sabanas de jícaros, zona pacífica; 40–60 m; fl y fr ago, sep; Nee 27604, Stevens 20608; Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Ecuador y Perú.
