Woodson passively, and probably inappropriately, lectotypified this name "T.: Mead s. n., MO!" but there are two Mead s.n. at MO; the (poorer) sheet that better matches the protologue is here labelled the lectotype. There would appear to be at least six Mead gatherings of this species.
