Radical leaves densely whitish tomentose below, cordate, 6-12 (-15) x 6-12 (-15) at fruiting, margins toothed or denticulate, petiole 10-16 cm long. Scapes 10-15 cm long. Scale leaves narrowly oblong up to 15 mm long. Capitulum 15-30 (-35) mm in diameter. Involucre 7-10 mm in diameter; phyllaries linear lanceolate 10 x 2.5 mm, sparsely white pilose. Ray florets ligulate, 6-8 x 0.3 mm. Disc corollas up to 7 mm long. Cypselas 1-2 mm long, pappus white, 3-5 mm long.
