Woody climber with deeply furrowed stems, pubescent when young. Leaves usually simple pinnate with 5 leaflets, rarely bi-ternate when the lobes of the lowermost leaflets become separated from each other completely. Leaflets 2-7 (-8) cm long, broadly ovate to ovate-cordate, often deeply 3-lobed with 2 small lateral lobes, acute, with a few scattered hairs on the upper surface, densely hairy usually only along the main nerves on the lower surface. Flowers numerous, creamy-white, paniculate. Sepals 6-10 mm long, lanceolate to oblong-obovate or obovate, acute or obtuse, tomentose outside, glabrous inside. Filaments narrowly linear, sometimes widened near the base, glabrous. Anthers glabrous, shortly oblong. Achenes pubescent. Styles upto 25 mm long, plumose-ciliate.
