Annotation: Although not explicitly stated in the protologue, the species epithet probably honors "M. l’abbe Armand David”. Since Franchet published the name as “armandi”, it is assumed that he intentionally Latinized the honoree’s name "Armand" to "Armandus" and formed the Latin genitive epithet “armandi”. (See ICN Art. 60.9 and Rec. 60C.1, Shenzhen Code, 2018); see also Pl. David 2: 2.
