Perennial or annual, procumbent herbs, stems striate, 20–65 cm long, densely woolly or coarsely hispid, usually rooting at the nodes. Leaves simple, opposite, petiolate or subsessile, lamina 3–lobed, 2.4–4.5 cm long,1.2–1.6 cm wide, ovate, ovate–lanceolate, serrate, cuneate. Capitula radiate, solitary, 1.2–1.8 (–2) cm across on 7–18 cm long peduncles. Involucre broadly campanulate, ca 12 mm long, ca 11 mm in diameter. Phyllaries 2–3–seriate, outer usually leafy, ovate, ca 5 mm long, ca 3 mm wide, densely hairy, inner ones membranous sparsely hairy, apex rounded. Receptacle conical or convex, paleae pale yellow, golden brown at the apex, membranous, 8–9 mm long. Ray florets few, 4–5, female, fertile, ligules white or pale yellow, 6–8 mm long. Disc florets bisexual, fertile. Corolla yellow, tubular–campanulate, 6–7 mm long, tube shorter than cylindric, 5–toothed, limb. Style branches slender, flattened, appendages subulate. Cypselas narrowly obconical, 3–5–angled, blackish. Pappus bristles 18–20, unequal, 5–6 mm long, plumose, usually broader at the base, persistent.
