[[[ post previous PMJ 2 Jun 2013 entry, jp 20 June 2013 adds: Ps. benthamii is a 1950 Cabrera nom. nov.(i.e., homotypic and South American, typified by Baker's 1884 three syntype collections; Cabrera's 1950 nom. nov. predates 1958 proviso in Art 37, which doesn't apply to this Cabrera nom. nov. , but only to new taxa) in Pseudogynoxys using epithet of Baker's illeg. hom. in Senecio, creation of which is as per ICBN 2000, Art 48.1 excl. of type proviso; S. benthamii Griseb. 1879 is heterotypic from S. benthamii Baker (Griseb. name is typified by two Central American colls.), and Griseb. name is in turn itself a nom. nov. in Senecio for (homotypic with, and tied nomenclaturally to) Gynoxys cumingii Bentham 1852, non Senecio cumingii H & A 1841]]]
