Comment/Acknowledgements :

This species is rare in our area whereas it is fairly common in Indian Himalayas (Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh), closely related to A. thomsonii C. B. Clarke in having similar habit and leaf shape. However, both the species are distinct as in A. peduncularis the leaves are sharply toothed and borne on a winged petiole, pappus is almost equalling or slightly shorter than the disc florets whereas in A. thomsonii  the leaves are sessile and the pappus is much shorter (⅓ or ½) than disc florets.
