Type: Syntypes: from Tibet and Kashmir (?).
Habitat: An imperfectly known species. The only record for our region is that of Thomson’s specimen collected from Khaplu, Shayuk valley.
Distribution: Distribution: Xizang, China, Kashmir (?).
Comment/Acknowledgements: Three specimens collected by T. Thomson, mounted on one sheet, are present in Kew herbarium. Handel-Mazzetti numbered these specimens as 1, 2 and 3. On number 1, there is a mark of interrogation and the dates are 5-6.5.1848. The specimen 3 is from Khaplu, Shayok valley. He identified all the three specimens as L. linearifolium. He was also surprised to see the specimens 1 & 2 from such a 1ow altitude, probably the species grow on a higher altitude. Moreover according to R. R. Stewart’s note that on May 5, Thomson was in Kashmir between Anantipur and Islamabad at 5200 ft.
Map Location: B-8 Khaplu, Shayuk valley No. 3, 1847 T. Thomson (K).
