Erect shrub; stem solid, terete, pubescent to tomentose, main branch dark reddish brown, side branch light reddish brown; leaf base appendage, 5-7, in two to three whorls, ovate to oblong, acute to obtuse, tomentose scaly, reddish brown; ridges present, entire or discontinuous. Leaves solitary, simple, alternate, sub-sessile or petiole 0.5-2 mm long, lamina narrowly, elliptical, obovate; 8-14 x 2-6 mm, base slightly oblique, very slightly undulate, entire, apex obtuse, rounded with tri-dentation, spiny out growth or mucronate; surface glabrous, light reddish brown abaxially, pubescent along veins beneath. Inflorescence compound corymb, c. 20 x c. 30 mm with peduncle 3-5 mm long. Flowers bisexual, 3-4.5 mm in diameter; pedicel 1-6 mm, densely tomentose, bracteole 1-3 mm long, tomentose outside; hypanthium campanulate, 2-3 mm long. Sepals 5, gamosepalous, lobes free, triangular ovate, 1-1.5 x 1-1.5 mm tomentose on both sides. Petals 5, polypetalous, 2-4 x 2-3 mm; rose like, orbicular to broadly obovate, notch, absent if present lobes then unequal. Stamens numerous, usually 10-12, free, filaments c. 2 mm long; anther c. 0.5 mm in diameter. Carpels 5, free, 1.7-2.0 mm long; ovary 1-1.5 mm long villous; style subterminal, bent outside, 0.5-1.0 mm long; stigma capitate or funnel shaped, 0.1-0.25 mm long, 0.2-0.3 mm wide. Fruit follicle, tomentose entirely, or partly, 2.5-3.0 mm long, half sunk in floral tube, villous, bearing slightly incurved style dorsally. Seeds 5-6, 4-5 large + 1-2 small or all equally developed.
