Notas :

Numerous spines, small deciduous leaves; corolla unknown; fruit small (4-7 mm diam.) and red.

This name is sometimes cited as "ex" Combs, but the infroduction to this article clarified that both the new name and description were Greenman's, not those of Combs, so this authorshp qualifies today as "in". The type collection was incorrectly cited by Borhidi et al. (2017: 62) as "Combs 271"; the protologue clearly cited Combs 406 and Greenman's annotations are on that collection.

Distribución : Dry to humid scrub vetation, often near coasts so probably on limestone and low elevations, central Cuba.
