Notas : This species is known from relatively few collections. This is one of the few species of Cinchona that Andersson (1998) diagnosed as always having pit domatia present on the leaves. It can be recognized by this character together with its stiff-textured leaves with quite short petioles and relatively small flowers, with the corolla tube only ca. 5-5.5 mm long. It is similar in general aspect to C. calisaya, which differs in its longer petioles and larger flowers, with the corolla tube 8-13 mm long. Andersson also noted that C. glandulifera is similar to C. villosa, but the latter species can be recognized by its longer petioles and larger flowers, with the corolla tubes 6-9 mm long.
Distribución : This species is known from northern through south-central Peru, in montane forests at 1000-1700 m.
