This species is characterized by its somewhat small elliptic leaves, fasciculate 4-merous flowers borne on well developed pedicels, white corollas with the tube 33--37 mm long, and somewhat short and ellipsoid fruits. It is similar in general aspect to Retiniphyllum laxiflorum.
