Notes:
This species has a somewhat slender, usually hirsute habit, distinctive shortly petiolate leaves with the blades densely bullulate, glomerulate sessile inflorescences, bright red bracts and calyces, short white to pink or yellow corollas 2-2.5 mm long, and subglobose red fruits. It is similar in inflorescence arrangement and color to Hoffmannia congesta.
